Jennylyn Mercado is FHM Philippines’ January 2008 Cover Girl

What made you say “yes” to FHM?
I guess it was time for me to be more open to discovering new things. It’s time for me na rin to come out since I’m no longer a child nor a teenager, pero siyempre may limitations pa rin. Wholesome pa rin, pero mas mature na.

Honestly, did you dread this?
No, masaya nga ako kasi from the very beginning nung minemake-upan pa lang ako kasundo ko na yung makeup artist. And I’ve worked with Jay our photographer, many times na rin. Walang hassle, walang pressure.

Made any preparations for the shoot?
Walang preparations kasi maraming beses ko rin itong pinag-isipan. A month ago, I didn’t want to push through with it. Then the week after, oo. Tapos the following week, hindi na naman. Paiba-iba ako ng mood, until finally, I just agreed to do it only a few days ago. I didn’t want to do something I wasn’t willing to do, kaya hinintay pa talaga namin na maging ready na talaga ako.

You are the first StarStruck Ultimate Survivor, but some of your batch mates like Katrina Halili and Cristine Reyes have become FHM babes way before you did.
As much as possible ayoko sanang ma-compare ng mga tao sa kanila kasi wala namang point. Magkakaiba naman yung aming strengths. Since the beginning yung pagka-package sa akin was wholesome. But I admire them both, especially since we started in the industry together.

In terms of physical assets, what sets you apart from them?
Mahirap isipin, ha ha! Readers na lang natin ang hintayin nating magsabi!
